I read an interview with Miyamoto on CVG
he makes it pretty clear that this is a new time period and new link so it isn't a Twilight Princess sequel.
Thinking about it, Zelda's universe/mechanics-reset seems to allow each game to be unique and awesome again. It's like a Jim Jarmusch movie.
