Why are not bright white as fluorescent flights home?
Many insects see ultraviolet light better than visible light, and feel more attracted to it because the designs of flowers that attract insects are found to ultraviolet rays. May seems strange, but female mosquitoes (Those that bite) are not attracted to light. Mosquitoes are attracted to mammals in general and not the moon or lights. Other insects such as butterflies and moths, which do not represent any danger to human beings are attracted to the light and unnecessary suffering and premature death. A Bug Zapper is a bad idea, it actually may attract more insects his court, rather than repel them.

That still wasn’t directly on the bulb, it was on the shade around the bulb. I’m not 100% sure it will work anyway, but in theory, based on the way the zapper works, something like it SHOULD work.

i have a stinger bug zapper 1 acre model……love it! its on right now and zapping away. on cool nights this time of year you will not get a lot of action, but on those hot summer nights it will zap all night long, even moths i find numerious moths in the morning, i would say be patient it will work. they love the blue light, but if there are other light sources in the vacinity the moths will be distracted by that, so if possible turn off any outside lights that surround your house.
