Why use EDI?
EDI and similar technologies save money from the company offering alternative flow of information or require replacement much human interaction and materials such as paper documents, meetings, faxes, etc. Even if the documents in role remain in parallel with EDI exchange, eg printed shipping manifests, electronic exchange and use data exchange reduces costs handling of the classification, distribution, organization and retrieval of paper documents.
