Broadband – How to protect your wireless network
It was not long ago, when personal computers, which restricts offices and wealthy households. In addition, computer networks where virtually unknown in residential areas, this technology was reserved for large office buildings – but many things have progressed over the years.
One of the most common methods of sharing a broadband connection in the home and offices of today is the use of technologies wireless.
Although this technology has revolutionized the way network and the Internet can access, which has a major drawback, which has been generalized coaxial cables or CAT5 network security more familiar than it is.
The technology includes a wireless network is typically made up a wireless router, host wireless (usually USB dongles or built-in antennas), and in some cases, one or more repeaters (if the signal must pass through an unusually long distance).
Once configured, the wireless router will be happy to start issuing and accepting the information within a certain radius. This essentially means that your next-door neighbor (Or anyone in range!) Can be access to your network, and the leaching of your Internet connection – which, as invading their privacy could cost you money if you have Use a wide band limit.
Thus, the first line of defense is familiar with your network and router settings, usually are available through a browser window
Router manufacturers tend to use the same SSID (network name) and data access for all their routers, to begin development of these something more personal is the first line of defense.
After that, it must implement some form of encryption, the choice popular WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), the last of which is the safest. What is the application of a certain "key" any team that tries to access your router attachment.
Finally Perhaps one of the best ways to ensure that the devices only want to access your router is configured for MAC filtering. MAC Media Access Control is a unique code assigned to each physical network device.
Therefore, finding MAC of each device your network (which can be difficult for the untrained to refer to the factory manual is recommended) and input these addresses in its MAC filtering lists only access.
In conclusion, the safety of your mobile to broadband network Broadband is relatively simple, with a lot of bandwidth and provide useful information sites guides you're never far from help. These sites often allow you to compare broadband packages, while offering expert assistance.

hi gTbAllerZ…. yaikz, ur name is so hard to pronounce…
anyway, I would like to recommend for you to have the better 108mbps wireless router than the usual 54mbps.
There has been plenty of known vendors (3Com, D-Link, Belkin, Linksys, Netgear, etc.) that uses this 108mbps to enhance the throughoutput of the standard 802.11g wireless type.
But don't use the 802.11n devices, because just now I heard rumors saying that the 11n Draft 2.0 (the latest standard of 11n) is going to change and thus effects the devices that have been thrown into the market…
I'm not recommending Linksys products to anyone now, because Cisco (it's parent company) has announced that they'll be discontinuing Linksys brand up until 4-5 years from now.
If money is not a problem for you, go for 3Com or Belkin. 3Com has been known for it's stability and performance, it's the only vendor that doesn't thrown in 802.11n wireless products until the 11n has been ratified (other vendors have been competing to produce 11n products so far). So it shows that 3Com products are for serious users, who cares more of ratified standards and compability. Plus 3Com offer both standard 11g and improved: 108mbps in their devices.
While Belkin produces good looking and good performance wireless routers too, but the price is only slighty lower than 3Com.
I'll recommend D-Link if you're concern for money worth, they have broad range of wireless products for you to choose with considerable price. Their latest devices, the 802.11n wireless devices are showing better and better performance. But since these D-Link's products are still new, they'll cost higher than the standard 802.11g devices.
I don't recommend Netgear and Buffalo, because their performance are vary from products to products.
Good luck, happy shopping & wireless networking!
