How to get Windows 2000 to recognize a new wireless USB adapter?

I have a Dell computer with Windows 2000. I connect to my wireless network with a Linksys wireless USB receiver. This was working fine. Suddenly, the Internet could not connect any longer. I checked the wireless network with another computer and it works very well. I checked the USB receiver in another machine, and that's fine too. When I enter my network settings, I see nothing about a wireless adapter. I downloaded and installed the Linksys driver again, but that does nothing for me. I went through "add hardware" and can not find the material to add. Verified USB port with a jump drive, and works very well. How I can get Windows 2000 to see the USB receiver again? Have you tried another USB port on the same PC? Generally, you must reinstall the style when used in another USB port. At this point, you can reinstall the device. Also you can see in the device manager if the device is defective. tab (right click on My Computer / Properties / Hardware / Device Manager button)
