Poker Tournaments WSOP WSOPE
World Series of Poker (WSOP) is currently one of the most popular poker tournaments, not only for the incredible amount of players involved, but also for the media coverage it receives, as we see thousands of people in their homes.
The history of the target = "_blank" title = "started the World Series of Poker> WSOP several years ago. Its creator is a poker fan named Benny Binion, During the late 50s and 60s organize enjoy poker games and small competitions. His passion for the game is must buy their own casino in 1970. Appointed Binions Horseshoe Casino, which quickly became a commonplace to visit poker personalities of the time. With the growing popularity of the casino, Benny soon began thinking about the idea of creating a poker tournament, and what he did. The name chosen for the competition was the World Series of Poker, which are increasingly popular in recent years. In early 1980 a series of preliminary satellite competitions have been introduced to determine who will play the final of the tournament. This has further increased the popularity of the WSOP.
After the death of the creator tournaments in 1989, his family took over the casino and the tournament. However, in 2004, the casino would be closed due to the fact that taxes were not paid.
But this does not mean the end of the World Series of Poker. The same year, Harrah's Entertainment purchased the casino and trademark rights to the WSOP. A new stage has begun. Then the first two tournaments were played at the Binions casino, but from 2006 will be taking place at different casinos in the EU.
Recognizing the enormous brand recognition WSOP with the growing number of poker players and fans, Harrah's decided to internationalize competition, which until now had never been produced outside the U.S..
This will be the start of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE), whose first event was held in London in 2007. There were three different events at the tournament played in three different casinos. First successful as a chance to win a WSOP bracelet desired attracted many famous players.
Second case is also held in London was made up of four different events, but this time all took place just casino. The triumph of this second issue demonstrated the success of the event, which was confirmed again by the huge number of participants in the latest edition to be held in London.
Thanks to this tournament, poker has become more popular than ever, especially for care received in the media.
