If you were just dropped into a random point in the ocean its not the great whites or the bulls you have to worry about its the oceanic white tips.
Shark attacks are very rare for all that they are highly publicised, great whites, Bull's and Tigers are often quoted as being the big 3, the most dangerous species, with great whites being named number 3. this is due to the fact that many shark attacks are often misidentified, often an attack which is documented as a great white attack is actually a tiger shark, the more aggressive of the two species. These 3 species are commonly quoted as being the most dangerous due to their close proximity to shore, your more likely to come in contact with these 3 large species than the oceanic white tips, however white tips are much more dangerous.
I have dived with Bulls sharks and Tiger sharks, my next challenge is Great white's. they are not nearly as dangerous as they are made out to be, and to be honest you should know the risks before getting into the ocean, I have a healthy fear of sharks but I am under no illusion that they will attack for no reason or that if I do get attacked its my own fault for taking the risk. The ocean is their natural habitat not ours.
