Anyone remember the story of the French fighter and the Champs Elysees?
I heard a story long ago to related with the liberation of Paris during the Second World War. It went something like this: one of the French soldiers was stationed near the Arc de Triomphe, and saw the advancing forces Nazi Place de la Concorde. His general told him to put the gun in a given period, but remembering the exact distance from where he stood with Nazi troops in its class in high school, he put his rifle at an appropriate distance. And hit. Does this story sound familiar to anyone else? Can not find your home anywhere online.
I am French and I've never heard this story … ?
