anything made by Saitek is good. I Saitek X52. I absolutely love it. I paid $ 100 for it. But if you care to go a step further, also has a Saitek yoke and brake pedals. Two that are around $ 200.00 (SET).

Dude, I got a used gamecube controller for 10 bucks at Game Crazy. My suggestion is to get a new one. It sounds like yours is broken. Especially if you've taken it apart and tried to fix it, and it still won't work right.
