If you have the mass spectrum in front of you, check this: the ratio of peak heights (or if you can measure it, area) for the 79 and 80 peaks would be the same as the ratio of peak heights for the 81 and 82 peaks. If these two ratios are the same, you'd know for sure you were looking at HBr peaks.
