Introduction to PSP Homebrew – Playstation Portable Tweaks

The PlayStation Portable is a handyman. Plays music, videos, surf the Internet and play games. But for a growing number of individuals is not enough. A hacker known as Dark Alex developed a compelling solution. It has developed software that, when installed on an SPP running 1.50 firmware allows the user to install the firmware hybrid of its own design. In other words, a PSP with custom firmware Dark Alex has all the features and functionality of the standard Sony firmware, and more support for the 1.50 firmware-based software. The firmware also comes with something called "Chicken", short for Homebrew Enabler. The developers can create software for the familiar 1.50 firmware, or the new 3.XX series like this.

Dark Alex has continued to develop custom firmwares, and has managed to keep each major new version of Sony. His latest stable firmware, 3.80 M33, is the most advanced version yet. It has tons of features, including custom development kit to support a 1.50 kernel plugin, and most importantly, a hacked network update. In the past, the update of the network into service would upgrade the vanilla Sony firmware, removing homebrew functionality. However, in 3.80 M33, and it is possible to update the new custom firmware with Sony's own tool.

What are the new characteristics of the custom firmware? This firmware new custom Officer has all the features firmware 1.4 has plus some extras. Many people ask me if I installed it and my answer is YES. I have M33 firmware from 4.01 to 2 Custom is already installed on my PSP Phat and have not found any faults yet. Requirements

As always, make sure you pass all requirements before you can do the installation.

* A PSP Fat and Slim PSP already installed with a custom firmware. At least CFW 3.52 M33-4 must be installed on your fat PSP 3.60 M33 for the slim.
* A fully charged battery. I know it works in 70% of injuries, but 100% of the battery with the AC adapter plugged is the safest installation.
* A USB cable to transfer files from your computer to your PSP.
M33 * 4.01-2 Pack installation I created for easy installation. Download Pack 4.01 M33-2 installed on your computer and unzip it.

The Steps

The steps are divided into three. Please follow the instructions carefully. I can not be held responsible for the bricks. To do so at your own risks! But I am 100% sure you do not brick your precious PSP if you follow the instructions carefully.

Step A – Installing Custom Firmware 4.01 M33

1. Connect your PSP to your computer via USB cable. Open the stage of a case and copy the UPDATE folder to ms0: / PSP / GAME /. After copying, disconnect the PSP from your computer.
2. In the XMB menu on your computer, the access to Thurs> Memory Stick and run the update 4.01 M33. When you run the update, the screen goes black. Follow instructions in the text. It will take you to the official Sony update the screen. This is normal. Continue the process as instructed.
3. Sony Update performed. Do not turn off your PSP or interrupt the update. After the upgrade, you are prompted to press a certain button to restart your PSP. Do.
4. Congratulations, your PSP is installed with 1.4 M33 custom firmware now. In step B.

Step B – Installing the 4.01 M33 update

1. You can do that if you manage to step A. Connect your PSP your computer. In the memory card, go to PSP / GAME and delete the UPDATE folder.
2. STEP 2 Now open folder your computer and copy the UPDATE file ms0: / PSP / GAME /. Disconnect your PSP from the computer after completion.
3. In the XMB, scroll to Game> Memory Stick and Run Update M33 4.01-2. Just follow the instructions on the screen and you will be safe.
4. After installation back to the XMB screen.
5. Congratulations the M33 4.01-2 PSP.

Step C – 1.50 Kernel add-on Installation Guide

1. This last package is optional. You can do or not. The next series of steps will be instructions on installing 1.50 kernel Add on the PSP Fat. Sorry slim owners.
2. Connect your PSP to your computer. Open Step C folder then copy the 150.PBP the computer to the root directory of your memory stick. And then copy 4XX folder from your computer to ms0: / PSP /.
3. Upon exiting the USB mode and on your XMB, go to Game> Memory Stick then run the 1.50 kernel add-on program. Follow the instructions on the screen.
4. After the successful installation, be reduced to XMB.
5. Congratulations. Your PSP is now the same as mine, a pocket battle dress. Place your 1.50 homebrew folder PSP/GAME150.
