How to choose the colors of your ebook cover
Color can have a profound impact on your prospects. The wrong colors can affect your sales, while the right colors can trigger positive emotions motivating your visitors to buy from you.
Color can affect our thinking and the influence of what we think. In general, bright colors and bold tend to confuse, while the pastel colors calm and relax. Responses to colors can vary by age, gender and cultural background.
Colors affect the way a potential buyer reacts to your ebook. Choose carefully the color scheme for your ebook cover. Here are some tips to help you make decisions right color. Keep in mind that these are guidelines and there is no hard and fast rules. Just use common sense Common. "• Consider your audience. For example, if your ebook is intended primarily for men, then you want to use bright colors, vivid. If your audience target audience is women, then choose soft, pastel colors. If interest focuses on children, choose bright, vibrant color.
• Choose colors that are appropriate for the subject of the book. For example, green may work well for books on starting a home business, making money and debt reduction.
• Use colors that match or complement the color scheme on its website.
• Keep the number of colors to two or three, and nothing else. This does not include photographs which can have a variety of colors.
• When the photos using your ebook cover, use colors that complement the primary colors in the image.
• Make sure all the colors they use work well together and do not collide.
• Communicate your message easily read text. Use the text color that contrasts with the background color for your text is legible. For example, a black font on a light background is easy to read.
• Consider the environment you want to create. Remember that emotions trigger sales. People buy what they want – not what they need. The list below show the number of colors can affect us in different ways.
Red – Action, energy, strength, passion, fire, heat energy, that attract attention. It can also mean love and romance. A strong masculine color. Red is a good color for a call to action. Blue – Confidence, travel, freedom, truth, professionalism, wealth and power. So quiet, reliable acceptance, patience, understanding, cooperation, comfort, loyalty and security. It is one of the quieter colors and is associated with the sky and sea intelligence, calmness and confidence. Blue also known to be an appetite suppressant, it would be good for cookbooks or recipes, but can be considered for diet books.
Green – Money, wealth, prosperity, peace, health, food, nature, hope, growth, freshness, soothing, sharing and responsiveness. Green symbolizes spring, renewal and Fertility.
Orange – The health and vitality, autumn, youth, fire, tenacity, courage, confidence, kindness, joy, warmth, enthusiasm , and energy. Is known to stimulate appetite. Vibrant and warm, orange is associated with autumn and the earth.
Yellow – light, purity and understanding, prudence, clarity, intelligence, joy, organization, Spring. Yellow often represents the sun, heat, light, energy and happiness.
Purple – Dignity, sophistication, creativity, spirituality and mystery. Deep Purple is associated with royalty and richness while lavender is associated with romance and nostalgia.
Brown – Credibility, stability, home, house, land, wood, comfort and strength. Brown can be used as a dead man or a warm color.
Black – Space, night, authority, dramatic, classic, committed, would, power, elegance and sophistication.
White – Purity, peace, perfection, kindness, gentle, easy cleaning, and spirituality. It is worth noting here, white represents life and marriage in Western cultures, but it represents the death and pain in Eastern cultures.
Grey – A conservative color, symbolizing the security, maturity and reliability.

I rarely discuss the OPAC. I would have said never, except that I often am working with History majors looking for primary sources in books via our catalog. But most students get the whole OPAC-book-shelf thing. So if I only had 15-20 minutes (and in a 50-minute class, talking more than that can be deadly), I would probably only mention something like, “this is where you search for books,” in order to get them into a database or two ASAP.

On August 6, amateur photographer Chris Spicuzza was spending her day at the San Francisco Zoo, taking photos of the gorillas. While she was there, a kid accidentally dropped his Nintendo DSi XL into their habitat. Curiously, one of the big gorillas grabbed it, and started to play with it. Finally, the sightly battered console was rescued by a zoo employee, probably sporting a big mustache, a red cap and red overalls. Five words: you’re a terrible f***ing parent.
