I was accepted to a culinary school before I went to film school, and as much as I love cooking for people, I don’t know if I could make that my vocation. I do love to cook and entertain for friends though.
A lot of movies are just as good as novels! A lot of the action packed explosions in movies can be OTT but stuff that happens to real people, will, at some point, have happened to real people. I think people who undermine cinema as a creative expression that is somehow less creative than literature miss a big part of a cinema. In a book you have characters that are basically a composition of the writers idea of what the character is like and your interpretations of that character. In a movie, you have the writers/directors idea of the character, your interpretations of the character, AND the actors interpretations of the character, and all three come together making a much more complex character with a lot of depth. I agree that Indies definitely have a much more realistic feel to them than spiderman.
