Nintendo DS R4 DS Slot 1 Solution – M3 DS Simply review and comparison.

There are so many Slot 1 homebrew devices for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite It is difficult to know exactly where you should buy. The current favorite, and I say this only based on OUT OF STOCK advice in the pages of online stores, is M3 DS. The M3 DS was not the first slot one solution, but is sure to be the favorite of the group. More than likely because of the immense popularity of the original M3 Adapter video / Game Boy Advance console.

In my investigation, however, found the DS R4. While this in itself is not very interesting, what's interesting is that the M3 DS R4 DS Slot 1 Solution is manufactured by the same people – or at least – the same factory. What does this mean for players and fans of homebrew is that they can be R 4 in his hands on the DS and they know that produces exactly the same than if you buy the M3 DS simply another store.

You see, the R4 DS M3 DS simply are exactly the same. The only difference between the two units is the packaging and the logo on the main screen when you start your Nintendo DS or DS Lite. Functions, features, firmware upgrades and updates are released on the same same time, it seems features and functions of each update are identical. If you get M3 DS Simply or R4 DS Slot 1 Solution you essentially get the same things – everything you need to load games, homebrew applications and is included in the box.

R4 DS Slot 1 Solution Package

It's almost a gift of dead here, except for the fact that the DS R4 DS comes in its own safe-R4. But you will notice once open the box, the box contents are identical to the M3 DS Simply, you can even get the same blue light keychain / bag that came with the M3 DS simply. You get everything you need, right from the box. This includes the R4 DS cartridge slot one, a microSD USB reader / writer (and this is effectively the microSD can be used as a USB drive) and key carrying pouch and software CD.

Implementation is easy R4 DS

Installation is as simple as possible. The manual instructions included (which is on the CD itself) the exact details you need to do to get your R4 DS to work. First thing you do is inserting the microSD card (not included – But you can buy what you want) in micrSD reader / writer connected to a USB port on your computer. The event will be raised as a portable hard drive / flash drive. Here you can do one thing. You can copy the software from the CD, as shown in the microSD card manual to put all the system files on it. I recommend go to the R4 DS firmware, and download the latest drivers, since there are frequently updated.

Once you have copied the card system files Micro SD, it's time to load homebrew games and applications for play. Again, this works exactly the same with the M3 DS simply no difference between the two units at all. Simply copy and paste files from your PC you want in the microSD card. Drag and Drop is simply necessary. Homebrew games and applications work without obstruction or compression settings. They work as they are, right out the box so to speak.

Now that you have copied the system files and files to use and play, it's time to put your card into the MicroSD slot on the top of the R4 DS cartridge. The R4 DS cartridge is the same size as any standard Nintendo DS Thu cartirge DS or Lite, so there is no swelling or left once it is inserted into the cartridge slot of the NDS. Micro SD slot is on the top of the DS R4 and really is spring. Inserting the microSD card slot with the label slot on the opposite side of the current label R4 DS cartridge. Click a Play Once you have inserted the card into the microSD slot is to let you know that is in place, and you're ready to turn on Nintendo DS. The microSD card fits flat against the R4 housing.

Once you have become your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite, the file system to load the R4 DS cartridge, exactly the same way as when use the M3 DS Simply. It takes about two seconds the main menu to appear, with the R4 DS logo on the top screen and the menu at the bottom. On the screen below you can select a 3 options.

1. Set menu – When you select this option, you instantly to a list of all the game files, applications homebrew, etc. you have stored on the microSD card. You can use the joystick to select the NDS file to upload. If you load a game for first time, you are prompted after selecting the game to confirm that you want to create a backup file for the game This is necessary if you want to save your game saves are stored in the same microSD card the game files themselves – this is fantastic, if you want to delete these games that would later be replaced by other files, such as copying the game save files to your PC for later use when you are ready to continue to play that game again.

2. MULTIMEDIA MENU – When you select this second option, open the player Media / Luna. In this menu, you can view digital photos stored on the microSD card, listen to your favorite MP3 songs, watch movies that have made DVD with the included software, and read eBooks in TXT format. It is essentially your Nintendo DS or DS Lite into a full multimedia entertainment unit burned.

3. Boot Slot 2 – This menu allows the R4 DS, like the M3 DS to boot the GBA slot or Slot 2 on your Nintendo DS / DS Lite console. This is for those of us who also want to get their hands on a GBA flash card, and want to run homebrew games and applications for GBA and Nintendo DS. It also adds more storage space for NDS Homebrew, because you can use a GBA flash card for NDS startup files, use the R4 DS as PassMe ID card solution.

In short, everything what you can get so the R4 DS Slot 1 M3 DS solutions and accessories are simply excellent for Nintendo DS Lite / DS. What should rely only on what model is the value. As mentioned earlier in this article, the two units are identical in every way. The only difference is the packaging and logo box that appears when you first started on your Nintendo DS.
