the ones i would recommend, in this order are:
1. (#8) The Haunted Carousel
2. (#2) Stay Tuned for Danger
3. (#13) Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon
I recommend, that, as your daughter is learning to play these, she play with you! it's a great time for both you and her. You can help take notes- remember, let her use the mouse- it teaches her how she can play when you're not able to play with her.

Sometimes it would be better to get a good book for game programming because it would probably show step by step on how to produce a good video game and it usually would include a CD which includes programs, code, instructions, and etc. which would help you to learn game programming and create your own video games.
