I have Sims Life Stories 2 PC, does that mean you can always buy an expansion pack?
I had the purchase of the The Sims 2 University on the PC, but do not know if you can actually use for the sims 2 life stories or do just need to buy sims 2 2?
No expansion packs not work with Life Stories. You need to get Sims2, Sims2 Deluxe, Double Deluxe and The Sims 2. But instead of throwing money for old games, you can consider waiting in February '09, when release of The Sims 3.

Make sure you have a double bed first. Then you select one sim and click on one side of the bed and select Relax. Then you can either control the other sim and do the same but on the other side of the bed or while still controlling your sim click on the other sim and select Ask To Join. The other sim will then come to relax on the other side of the bed. You then have the sims kiss, cuddle, whatever, then you click on the other sim and select Try For Baby. You will know it worked if you hear a lullaby.
Also – the female sim has to be living on the lot. You can't be controlling a bachelor male sim, invite over either a townie or another controllable and try to get them pregnant. It won't work. The pregnancy token is kept on the lot where the pregnancy was made, so a townie or a sim living on another lot cannot get pregnant on your controllable sim's lot. You either have to move the female in or, if she's controllable, get her pregnant on her home lot.
Keep in mind that Life Stories has a limit of 4 sims per household. If there are already 4 sims living on the lot, pregnancy won't occur, either.

Most books stop short of much over 400 pages, it seems to me.
It also seems odd that you're gathering short stories into a book for what appears to be your first publication. Short stories are individual manuscripts. Are the stories linked in some way?
I suggest you first go to a public library, where there are many magazines plus their back-issues, and find magazines you might be able to place a (as in singular) story in first. Once you've read a few, and some back-issues of each, study how to publish them in The Writer's Market, current edition.
If that book costs too much, use the library's copy since you're there anyway. Use their copier to keep pages of most interest. Take notes.
Be sure you study the first section very well before going on to find out if your magazines are still in business, if they take either a query or a story without it being solicited, and to whom, where and in what form to send out a short story or query. Don't forget the possibilities of anthologies, either.
It just seems to me that once you've published at least one short story (hopefully a few), you can then study how to get an agent or how to act as your own; how to approach publishers of books, so you'll then have a better chance at convincing them to print all your own short stories in one book.

ADD: If you want to know how many stories are 'too many' for a book, that depends entirely on the length of your stories. Suggest you look at anthologies (best source for this) of short stories and judge what you have by what they average.
