The driving test is inadequate in it’s purpose as it only covers car control and road procedure, we are getting many T.V. adverts on think with road accidents, this is a good message but it does not carry a very strong impression and is dismissed by nearly everybody who sees the advert. For instance to think bike at the end of a junction is all to late to get a message across, what they should have said is when approaching the junction end a long vehicle is cutting the corner and the back end of his vehicle will be on your side of the road as he turns the corner, then a cyclists is flying down the footpath or someone on a skateboard is shooting by, and the road you are going to turn into has trees down the side of the road so if you go too far towards the end of the junction you cut your own view down, not being able to see between the trees, this is when the picture in the mind should come in of the bike, these picture of what is going on around every corner has to be put in to the minds of all pupils so that they are aware what is likely to happen before they see the trouble, this is where the reflexes are blamed by the police either with drink or taking action form seeing things, when all this trouble can be avoided.
