Super Man 3 PS 3 Thurs questions?

I recently bought Spider-Man 3 (Collector's Edition) for PS3. I also bought Spider-Man 3 Signature Brady Games Guide Series. The guide is organized for mission scientists. Like, missions, missions Lizard, Scorpion and Mad Bomber missions etc. Each mission consists of several parts. For example, Mad Bomber missions in five parts – (1) To Catch a Mad Bomber (2) Subway Disaster (3) Jetpack Bombers (4) Map of Carlyle, (5) The death of J. Jonah. Similarly other missions have parts for them. Here are some questions I have: (1) Is this game supposed to come in the form of organization of missions and the parties in this guide? (2) Is this game can be played side by picking randomly from different missions in any order? (3) are the sequences and tactics written in the guide the only way to end a successful mission? (4) Is the order of tasks (or parts thereof), as organized in this guide the only way to end the game? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
