I was using a Logitech controller on my PC (I don't remember what model it is, but it looks like a PS2 controller) and I am now using it on my iMac – it didn't load right when I plugged it in, but I searched the Logitech site and found the drivers for OS X and now it's working just fine! Some controllers have built-in drivers though, so that might work for you.
