Evil Dead [VHS] $4.00 In the fall of 1979, Sam Raimi and his merry band headed into the woods of rural Tennessee to make a movie. They emerged with a roller coaster of a film packed with shocks, gore, and wild humor, a film that remains a benchmark for the genre. Ash (cult favorite Bruce Campbell) and four friends arrive at a backwoods cabin for a vacation, where they find a tape recorder containing incantations from a… |

Evil Dead II [VHS] $4.77 Writer-director Sam Raimi’s extremely stylized, blood-soaked follow-up to his creepy Evil Dead isn’t really a sequel; rather, it’s a remake on a better budget. It also isn’t really a horror film (though there are plenty of decapitations, zombies, supernatural demons, and gore) as much as it is a hilarious, sophisticated slapstick send-up of the terror genre. Raimi takes every horror convention tha… |

Who holds a dick while peeing in water lol??
…this is a trick question, right??? The Necronomicon Ex Mortis was resigned to the flames of the cabin's fireplace, in the FIRST 'Evil Dead' movie; I suspect that the reason why that final singular demon appeared at the end of the movie, because the book was not totally destroyed, hence the revelation of the missing pages that were discovered, and brought to the cabin, in the SECOND movie….
…a great movie, taking the Necronomicon as it's inspiration, has yet to be released on DVD, and is very difficult to find on VHS tape (…I've almost worn mine out); that film is the surreal, icky and horrific 1993 anthology, entitled "Necronomicon: Book of the Dead". As he did in "Re-Animator" and "From Beyond", character actor Jeffery Combs once again wrought a bravo performance, in yet another H.P. Lovecraft-based movie….this time, playing the famed author, himself…..
…there was a great HBO production, back in the early '90's….a very pulpish and dark-humored horror/dark fantasy/mystery, entitled "Cast a Deadly Spell", which liberally used the Necronomicon as it's inspiration; in fact, the detective in this dark fantasy film noir, was named Phillip Lovecraft, as portrayed by character actor Fred Ward….
…as early as 1970, the Necronomicon made it's appearance, in a very cheezy and low budget, but wholly delightful little horror ditty, entitled "Equinox"….
