Engine Turbo
What should I do for a stock turbo motor 420A?
I have a '95 Eclipse 420A with the original engine. I want to turbo and you should know that all needs to be done to the engine to drive around 12-14 psi. What should be done to strengthen this beast?
new computer (ECU). New injectors higher volume. new camshaft. New exhaust system (cont.) Larger radiator. decompression of the plate for the head – or new pistons, low compression. Intercooler. New Air Mass sensor. Hope trans can handle the extra power. It is more work than it seems. It's probably cheaper (and certainly more reliable) to simply buy a second-turbo engine hand with all the extra bits and just screw around in. Good luck!
