Have you installed the VMWare tools on your VM slice? If not that is the reason. Change you VM CD-ROM to "Use ISO Image" and choose the windows.iso file located in C:Program FilesVMWare…..
The …. is because I don't know what kind of installation you have. The windows.iso file will be in a subfolder somewhere from there…just search for it.
Once you have it mapped..boot up your VM and navigate to the CD-ROM and run the installer. That should solve your issue.
