I think conquer online meets all your requirements. It is free to play and download, and I have already known lots of friends from this game, we like chatting and interacting, hehe. It does have a huge and good community.
CO has very good PVP system, it has ninja, fire tao, water tao, trojan, warrior and archer class. And the new class monk is under design now. I am expecting its release, hehe:)
This game is very classic and it just entered its 7th anniversary, you can click the following link(co 7th anniversary video) and have a brief gameplay of it first, then decide to try it or not.
I highly doubt you would see this game on any console. It's just too much for a small console system to play. (graphics in the game are amazing)
I bought the game on release, and have enjoyed it since. Yes, it has bugs. Then again, point me to a game that doesn't. The higher Leveling (60+) quests are a bit non-existant, but they claim to be working on more to add.
The characeter customization is impressive. (I still feel that Star Wars Galaxies has the best character customization of any MMO I have played)
The combat is awesome. The combos impressive. The death kills (beheadings, blood spurting onto the ground, limbs flying away) are also incredible. And no-one can forget that this game has collision. No more will you see a single person run up to a large group of enemies, attack them and run right through them. If you coordinate well enough with others, you can literally take 4 people, and trap a single person in the middle of them. You will not see someone run up to a group, and run through that group. They will be blocked by the bodies.
Is the game worth it? In my opinion, and for me, it is. For you? I don't really know, as I don't know you.
