I believe the weight are different but I will have to my friend who use to box.
Ray Flores was a referee and glove maker during the 50's 60's from the San Francisco area. He made the Flores glove that was used in all the pro fights in and around the California area. Ray Robinson, Gene Fullmer used Flores in their bouts, as did several name fighters of the time. The Flores training glove was a big hit too with all pro fighters of that era. When Ray passed, his nephew Dan Mosby took over an made even better examples of Flores gear. Dan passed away last year and Flores is no more. Dan was a good friend of mine and would custom make the famous Flores glove that many enjoyed. Sorry to say, Dan and Flores are gone.
If you really need to speed up the process there are a couple products available with names like "Hot Glove" or something like that.
Basically they're creams or foams that you rub into the leather and then put your glove in a hot oven for a few minutes. I found some at my local sporting goods store. They really work to soften up the leather.
One warning though…The instructions on the product I bought said to put the cream over the whole glove. I did this and the glove ended up a little "floppy." The next time I did it I only put the product on the palm, pocket and heel (which is usually the stiffest part of a new glove). This seemed to work better.
