The PlayStation game console is a 32-bit fifth generation published by Sony Computer Entertainment in December of 1994. The PlayStation was the first series of the PlayStation game machines and hand, which was created and launched in Japan. Successor consoles and upgrades include the Net Yaroze, PS one, PSX, PocketStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3. On March 31, December 2005, the PlayStation and PS one reached a total of 102.49 million units sold, becoming the first video game console to reach 100 million dollars. As of July 20, 2008, the PlayStation has sold 102 million units. Sony has stopped production of the PlayStation March 23, 2006, more than 11 years after its first production.

The PlayStation was launched in Japan December 3, 1994, North America September 9, 1995, Europe September 29, 1995 and Oceania on November 15, 1995. The price of entry into the U.S. market was U.S. $ 299 and Sony has enjoyed a very successful launch with titles of almost every genre including Battle Arena Toshinden, Warhawk, Air Combat, and Philosoma, and Ridge Racer. Almost all Sony and Namco's launch titles went to spawn numerous sequels.
The PlayStation was also able to attract interest unique series of advertising campaigns. Most ads launch in the launch were full of ambiguous content which had many players with fierce debate about their meaning. This function, and a memory manager of the card can be accessed when starting the console without having to insert a game, so to access a menu system with a dark blue background and buttons that are designed as the rainbow of graffiti. If a match is found in the system at any time in the menu, the game starts immediately.
