Aikido: the meaning of an ancient art

Aikido means "The Way of Harmony with the Spirit" and is considered a non-violent martial art form. However, do not be fooled. Aikido when used correctly is very powerful often are able to block and neutralize strong attacks and counter them with the same force.

Morihei Ueshiba, known as O-Sensei in the world of Aikido martial arts founded. O-Sensei is a master of Jujitsu or unarmed combat, or sword fighting and fighting Kinjitsu sojitsu spear and studied philosophical and religious teachings.

Due to religious and philosophical foundations of Aikido, principles of art martial include how to harmonize with the ki or spirit within oneself and the greater spirit of nature. The principles of Aikido includes unit, circular motion and ki.

Among the philosophical teachings of Aikido, one of the most important bases is learning to control. Maintaining a balance is necessary to harmonize with interior allowing others to control the opponent's attack or applying an effective technique. Self-management is the key to achieve and maintain harmony.

The principle unit is another basic principle of Aikido. The aikidoist must learn to be one with any situation. Become a way to have an attitude of respect all things and situations, friend or foe. In training to become one with every situation, harmonization will follow and will be possible to Aikido techniques, movements and forms accurately and efficiently.

The harmony also means synthesis. And the spiritual circle which is a cornerstone of all techniques aikido synthesizes everything. Aikido is a combination of circular movements. Its techniques and movements revolve around the concept of circular motion. When an opponent attacks, the aikidoist using a circular movement of the abdomen to control the attack and execute Aikido techniques against attack.

It is said that the defense is the biggest crime. In Aikido properly defend the attack, we must learn to move away from the range of the effectiveness of the opponent's attack. However, as attempts to defend the opponent's effective range, also should try to maintain its own range of effectiveness for the contras to attack effectively.

You will not be able to give an effective attack if it went too far of his opponent. Similarly, it might be too close to prejudice the effectiveness of their techniques. It all depends on the situation. As a practitioner of aikido, you must learn to identify how to avoid the reach of your opponent while control of your own in various situations.

Finally, the principle of Ki means believing that everything in the universe is governed by a force or spirit. Ki is also the energy and our life force. Ki is the force that binds the mind and body. Is the energy that harmonizes us to our surroundings. By learning to control our Ki, we will be able to unify our mind and body the most efficient movements and execution of aikido techniques.

Aikido focuses on distance, movement, speed, and the projection of an attacker. Using the mixture, spiral and extension techniques, the attack will be neutralized and use of self-centeredness and hips, the same amount of force can be applied to the attacker. In Aikido, the spiraling and circular movements reflect what the martial art is: a movement fluid and the spirit and energy.

so in other word you don't really have a question only a statment. cool i agree with you. but who care people will get tattoed or they won't lord knows i'd be happier if i did'nt do so many "tribal" tattoos. that are nothing more then black work designs and really tribal.

i think you could–I've seen references in books quite a lot as 'personal communication' date and time, but those are generally well-known people. You could try to contact the answerer in order to get permission to quote and to find out a little bit more about their credibility. I know I do my best to be accurate, but from some of the answers I read, not every one does!
As another poster wrote, I would definately check up on answers that you receive here from other sources–surely they are teaching you in school ways to judge the credibility of a website.
In fact, you could simply say to your teachers, "I've been using Yahoo Answers as a first source when trying to find something out. Should I cite that person as well as the other sources I go to to verify that answer or not?" Then you'd know for sure what that teacher wants! (and you will note, I've implied you always have verified the answer you got from Answers)

    Howdy-

I'd use the date of the book's publication (found in the front by ISBN #) like you'd normally do and also write "Undated image" next to Untitled image.
