What voltage settings to use the iPod Car Adapter?
I bought a Jensen, car power adapter – Model # JCD22A. It is supposed to convert 1000mA (Current cigarette lighter) to the voltage used for an iPod, events that can be 1,5, 3, 4.5, 6, 9 or 12V. I know nothing about these things, and do not want to destroy my iPod. No one knows the correct voltage to use, or you yet? Thanks!

they are out there. Might keep eye on junk stores and ebay be my best guess. at one time when usb started be popular serial joysticks use come with the attachment so you plug in serial or usb port.

Try using the TV speakers. Do you have the same problem?
I suspect using a stereo receiver wont work well.
There are 3 types of TV sound:
MTS Stereo (includes mono)
ProgLogic
Dolby Digital 5.1
The latter 2 types of sound need an AV Receiver to decode them and usually have adjustments to raise/lower the center volume where most of the dialog comes from. (not to mention having a dedicated center speaker).
Either the shows or the cable box assume you have one of the newer AV receivers or the stereo over-emphasizes the music rather than the dialog.
Go to the CATV box and find the audio settings. Try to set it to "stereo" or "mono" . If it has a "compression" setting, set it to high. This might solve your problem.

DVI is the way to go. YES there are adapters out there that will do the trick. If you are getting an HD signal through your TV (either HD cable or HD Sat) then you should be getting a nice HD picture, either 720p or 1080i depending on your monitor and settings (refresh rate)
