What could be the adapter for my laptop to stop charging the battery?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501. Christmas I and for some months an AC adapter stopped charging the battery. Occasionally the work of the adapter for a few days or weeks, and then goes again for alittle while.
The adapter has a bad plug. Replace the plug or adapter. You may be able to confirm this by moving the cable near the plug back and forth while watching the meter load or light. You have to hold the wire in different positions, and that light can give an early indication. If your computer runs on AC power, this is not the problem. In this case, may be the computer or the battery. Make sure connections are clean. The following link is about cleaning digital camera batteries and connections.
